Despite playing only two-and-a-half seasons for Newark State (now Kean), Frederic Boff made his mark on the basketball program, particularly in the record book.

Scoring, rebounding and blocking shots, Boff set school and national records that stand today, and may never be broken.
An exceptional scoring threat, his offensive ability was made evident by his 1,000-plus career points, but Boff's most significant accomplishments were as a rebounder and defensive player.

A two-time All-Conference selection, Boff smashed the national record for rebounds in a half and in a game, snaring 27 and 36, respectively, against Rhode Island College during the 1968-1969 season.

Boff, one of just three members of Kean's elite 1,000 point, 1,000 rebound club, is Kean's all-time leader with 1,042 rebounds, and boasts the highest single-season total of 390. He averaged a phenomenal 17 rebounds per game for the 1968-1969 season, and better than 16 per contest for his career.  Boff's glass-cleaning exploits also include 27 games of 20 or more boards, including 12 in his senior season alone. Three times he grabbed 30 or more rebounds in a game.

A menacing shot blocker as well, Boff graduated as the school's all-time leader for blocks in a half (9), game (11), season (95) and career (208). Over his career, he averaged 3.2 blocks per game.

Boff earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English/teacher education in 1969.
