Hall of Fame
Melissa Nunez was a two-sport standout for the Cougars from 2001-05 in women’s lacrosse and field hockey. She was a dominating offensive player on the lacrosse field, where she typically took possession in the defensive zone and carried it down the field. She was named women’s lacrosse team MVP in 2005, and is one of only two Cougars ever to earn All-ECAC honors in that sport. In field hockey, she was a skilled midfielder, four-year starter and was twice named team MVP.
She was also a First-Team All-Knickerbocker Conference women’s lacrosse selection, set a record for most goals in a season with 69, and led the Cougars to their first three postseason appearances ever in 2003, ’04 and ’05. She finished her career with 107 goals.
