Kean University Cougars
Hall of Fame
By the time Frank Beckhorn concluded his baseball career at Kean University, all he did was craft the highest career batting average in the history of collegiate baseball. Today, Beckhorn still holds the Division III record with a career .483 batting average, and remains second among all divisions.
Beckhorn also owns the distinction of being the only Kean athlete to be named to three All-America teams, including first-team honors in 1998. The Woodbridge native was twice named NJAC, ECAC and NJCBA Player of the Year, as well as the Mid-Atlantic Regional Player of the Year in 1998. Beckhorn led the Cougars to the NCAA Tournament in 1998 and was a part of three teams that advanced to the NJAC Tournament.
Beckhorn earned his bachelor's degree in Health and Physical Education in 1999 and a master's in Health and Physical Education in 2002. He has served as the Cougars' hitting coach for six of the past eight years.
