Kean University

Deidre Kelleher Dellert was a two-sport star for Kean as a goalkeeper in field hockey and an outfielder in softball. Her excellence on the field earned her the 1991 D'Angola Award as the University's outstanding female athlete of the year.

In field hockey, Dellert achieved second team All-American status in 1990. A first team All-New Jersey Athletic Conference selection as a junior and senior, she set Kean records for saves and save percentage, and was named the Cougars' Most Valuable Player in 1990 and 1991. As a junior in 1990, Dellert allowed only 1.56 goals per game, recording 269 saves. She stopped 91.5 percent of the opponents' shots on goal.

Dellert was a four-year starting outfielder on the Cougar softball team, earning Most Valuable Player honors in 1991. Her teams garnered two ECAC playoff berths in 1990 and 1991 before Dellert pushed the squad into the NCAA Tournament with a 29-10 record in 1992. She batted .326 as a senior, delivering three game-winning hits and played errorless ball in the outfield. During her final three seasons, the Cougars amassed a record of 76-43.

Dellert received a Bachelor of Arts degree in health and physical education from Kean in 1993.
